Vitalitea Kombucha Company was founded in 2015 on the beautiful Hawaiian Island of Maui by a serious (beer) homebrewer seeking balance. Since then, we’ve set out on a journey to craft healthy & delicious beverages utilizing local tropical fruits, roots and herbs. We hope you can taste the pure love, energy and passion we’ve poured into every ounce!

Community

We are committed to sourcing our ingredients locally from our many partnerships with farmers, roasters and businesses across Hawaii. We are thankful to be apart of this amazing island community and blessed to be an avid donor to many local organizations.

Sustainability

Our responsibility to the environment runs deep and guides nearly every aspect of our ongoing business operations. From renovating an old algae farm facility into our modern production brewery fully powered by the solar farm on which it sits. To packaging our product in cans that are manufactured from recycled aluminum here in Hawaii and composting all of our production coffee/tea/fruit scraps. We are continuously working to minimize our environmental impact and overall waste.

We believe it’s something you can taste. It starts with sourcing the highest quality local and certified organic ingredients possible, which we then cold press in our brewery. Strengthens through our investment in state of the art brewing equipment and is guaranteed by our quality control procedures which include rigorous testing of each batch by our in-house lab throughout the fermentation process.

Our coffee is locally roasted, custom blended and always brewed fresh. It undergoes a small batch 24hr cold steep and is infused with food grade nitrogen resulting in a smooth, velvety mouthfeel along with a lasting freshness.

What is kombucha?

Kombucha is a fermented tea, made by adding a symbiotic culture of (healthy) Bacteria and Yeast (S.C.O.B.Y.) to a blend of organic green tea, black tea and organic cane sugar. The culture metabolizes the tea & sugar, rendering a tart, refreshing, detoxifying and effervescent drink. Kombucha is loaded with digestive enzymes, organic acids and several vitamins. Through this fermentation process, very little sugar is left in the final product.


What is Nitro Cold Brew Coffee?

The process of cold-brewing coffee replaces damaging heat with mellowing time, which allows less oils (bitterness) to be extracted from the coffee bean. By leaving behind the harsh bitterness of hot brewed coffee, you are able to taste every subtle characteristic of the bean our local roaster meant to showcase.

The infusion of inert, food grade nitrogen gas, allows the coffee, when served, to cascade into a “cream like” surface. This thick, creamy head gives the perception of added cream although it’s simply the tiny nitrogen bubbles delivering coffee flavor and aroma to the surface. All without added calories, which is why we dubbed it the “guilt free creamer”!


Why cans?

We have a deep responsibility to our environment and local community. Overall, cans drastically reduce our carbon footprint & environmental impact. While there is no glass bottle manufacturing or recycling in the Hawaiian Islands, our cans are manufactured locally from recycled aluminum here in Hawaii. Cans are more durable, easier to transport, increase product quality and are safer for our beaches. Simply put, cans are better.


Does kombucha have to stay refrigerated?

Yes. Our Kombucha is a raw living food that is susceptible to spoilage and/or continuous fermentation if exposed to heat. Proper storage is between 33-40 degrees Fahrenheit.


Does kombucha contain alcohol?

Kombucha is a fermented product that contains trace amounts of alcohol. However each batch is tested in our in-house lab throughout the fermentation process to ensure compliance of <.5% ABV required by the TTB to be labeled non-alcoholic.
